Bahamas Industrial Technologies Ltd. is seeking an experienced welder to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing acceptable groove welds on code and non-code work in flat, vertical, and horizontal positions and producing acceptable fillet welds on code and non-code work in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions mainly utilizing the FCAW process. The welder must have at least three years of experience in GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW welding processes and be able to pass standard fillet break and bend tests on groove welds. The position involves working in an open-air environment during various weather conditions, and it is physically demanding, requiring many hours of standing, stooping, bending, lifting, and reaching. We are seeking an experienced welder to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing acceptable groove welds on code and non-code work in flat, vertical, and horizontal positions and producing acceptable fillet welds on code and non-code work in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions mainly utilizing the FCAW process. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW welding processes and must be able to pass standard fillet break and bend tests on groove welds.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Produce acceptable groove welds on code and non-code work in flat, vertical, and horizontal positions and produce acceptable fillet welds on code and non-code work in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions mainly utilizing the FCAW process
- Pass standard fillet break and bend tests on groove welds
- Be trained and certified in multiple positions and processes, including welding on fracture critical materials
- Use grinders and other hand and power tools normally used in the welding industry
- Work in an open-air environment during various weather conditions
- Stand, stoop, bend, lift, and reach for many hours
- Report to work on time and complete the entire shift
- Listen attentively to supervision and follow direction accurately and timely
- Learn from supervision, mentors, and day-to-day work practices in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Work as part of a team with an attitude that allows the employee to cohesively belong to the team effort
- Communicate effectively with supervision and other team members
COMPETENCIES
- At least five years of experience in GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW welding processes
- Ability to produce acceptable groove welds on code and non-code work in flat, vertical, and horizontal positions and produce acceptable fillet welds on code and non-code work in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions mainly utilizing the FCAW process
- Ability to pass standard fillet break and bend tests on groove welds
- Ability to work in an open-air environment during various weather conditions
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, and reach for many hours
- Good hearing and vision for both employee’s safety and the safety of those working around the employee
- Ability to maintain a drug-free state while reporting to work
