Bahamas Industrial Technologies Ltd. is seeking a Mobile Crane Mechanic. The successful candidate will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our fleet of mobile cranes. The mechanic will work closely with our crane operators and service team to ensure our cranes are in top condition and meet safety and performance standards. The position requires a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with hydraulic systems and electrical systems, and the ability to work in a fast- paced, team-oriented environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform routine maintenance on mobile cranes, including inspections, lubrication, and fluid and filter changes
• Diagnose and repair hydraulic and electrical systems
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical issues, including engines, transmissions, and gearboxes
• Order and install replacement parts as needed
• Perform load testing and other performance tests on mobile cranes
• Conduct safety checks on cranes and ensure compliance with safety standards
• Keep accurate maintenance and repair records
• Communicate with crane operators and service team to ensure all issues are addressed in a timely and efficient manner
• Assist with other duties as needed

COMPETENCIES

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Technical degree or certification in heavy equipment mechanics or related field preferred
• Minimum of 10+ years of experience as a mobile crane mechanic (Liebherr, Grove, Link-Belt, XCMG) or similar role
• Knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems, diesel engines, and heavy equipment repair
• Experience with load testing and other performance testing
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record and a valid passport
• Must be able to lift heavy objects and work in physically demanding conditions
